Job Summary

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving sales and business development for the company’s construction chemical products. The role requires a strong understanding of civil engineering and construction processes, combined with the ability to identify customer needs, provide appropriate technical solutions, develop new business and achieve sales targets.

Job Details

 

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets for construction chemical products.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across contractors, consultants, developers, distributors and other construction industry stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry decision-makers.
  • Conduct regular customer and construction site visits to identify opportunities and provide technical support.
  • Understand customer construction requirements and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
  • Provide technical presentations, product demonstrations and application guidance to customers and site teams.
  • Identify construction projects and actively manage opportunities from specification through procurement and final application.
  • Engage consultants, architects, engineers and contractors to drive product specification and adoption.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals and technical/commercial presentations.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing and customer requirements and provide relevant market intelligence.
  • Work closely with the technical, product, supply chain and customer service teams to resolve customer issues and support successful product application.
  • Conduct product trials and follow up on technical evaluations to drive conversion.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, project database, customer records and sales forecasts.
  • Achieve agreed sales, margin, customer acquisition and project conversion targets.
  • Ensure effective follow-up on customer orders, deliveries and outstanding payments.
  • Participate in industry events, customer meetings and technical seminars to promote the company’s construction chemical portfolio.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in technical sales, construction chemicals, building materials or a related industry.
  • Experience working with contractors, consultants, developers and construction project teams is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of construction chemicals such as waterproofing systems, concrete admixtures, repair products, sealants, grouts, flooring systems and bonding agents is an advantage.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing new business.
  • Strong technical, commercial, negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and understand construction specifications.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems.
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively to customer locations and construction sites.
