Job Summary

The IT Support Officer is responsible for providing first-level technical support to employees by resolving hardware, software, network, and system-related issues. The role involves installing and maintaining IT equipment, supporting end users, troubleshooting technical problems, and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or an early-career IT professional looking to build practical experience.

Job Details

• Provide first-line technical support to users via phone, email, remote access, or in person.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT peripherals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
• Set up user accounts, passwords, email accounts, and system access in line with company policies.
• Support Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Assist in installing, updating, and maintaining business applications.
• Perform routine maintenance on IT equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Escalate unresolved technical issues to senior IT personnel when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and IT asset inventory.
• Assist with onboarding by preparing laptops, user accounts, email addresses, and system access for new employees.
• Support antivirus deployment, software updates, and basic cybersecurity best practices.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and information security standards.
• Assist in monitoring network devices and report abnormalities promptly.
• Provide basic user training on IT systems and applications.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the IT Supervisor or IT Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• NYSC completed.
• 0–2 years of relevant IT support experience.
